West Carleton Outdoor Hockey League

2014-2015 Registration - December 6th 9am - 12pm
at the Kinburn Community Centre

The cost is $60.00 a player and the season goes from January to Early March.

Ages are 5-15 boys and girls. Games are Saturday morning (and maybe 1 or 2 weekday game during the season) and 1 practice through the week.

Volunteers are needed to coach and Ref.

The goal of our volunteers is threefold: expose children who might not otherwise play hockey to the game, allow players who play the more competitive indoor game to try different aspects of the game(ie. Positions, types of plays etc.) and just allow the players to have fun playing the game.

It is recognized that players who play indoors will have to give that team preference when there is a scheduling conflict.

We have a much higher ratio of girls that play the outdoor game, but also find the great amount of skating, and long shifts, appeal to the boys competitive nature.

Scores are kept for the individual games, but there is no playoff, or declared champion. The outdoor conditions expose the players to manageable hardships.(ie. Playing in cold conditions but, if need be, going inside between shifts.)

Everyone is welcome no matter what level their skills are.
